الفتاوى المعتمدة من خلاصة فقه الشافعية (Al-Fatawa al-Mu'tamadah min Khulasat Fiqh al-Shafi'iyyah)

The author, Habib ibn Yusuf al-Farisi, may rightly be regarded as one of the foremost Shafii scholars among the mutaakhkhirun. Yet, it is striking that his name remains largely unknown to many scholars and students. He was a direct student of al-Shirwani, the renowned author of the celebrated hashiyah on al-Tuhfah. The depth of tahqiq and tadqiq evident in the two volumes of his fatawa is truly extraordinary, comparable to that of Muhammad ibn Sulayman al-Kurdi, whose own fatawa have been described as though “written in gold”.
