مرشد الأنام لبر أم الإمام (Murshid al-Anam li Birr Umm al-Imam)

Murshid al-Anam stands as the sole known commentary on Kitab al-Umm. Authored by Ahmad Bey al-Husayni over a century ago, it occupies a unique position within the Shafii scholarly tradition. The muhaqqiq, Dr Muhammad Umar al-Kaf, has rendered an exceptional service through his meticulous critical edition, despite his work being confined to the muqaddimah. His efforts are truly remarkable: he carefully traced every reference cited by the author, identifying the locations of both published works and unpublished manuscripts alike. In cases where texts remain unprinted, he diligently documented the libraries and manuscript collections across the world in which they are preserved. This is particularly important for the Tabaqat section of the book.
