روح المعاني (Ruh al-Ma'ani)

This is the celebrated tafsir of al-Alusi (d. 1270 AH), a work that stands among the most distinguished contributions to Quranic exegesis. Aptly titled Ruh al-Maani, it truly embodies the “spirit of meanings”, weaving together linguistic precision, rhetorical depth, and profound reflection. The tafsir is particularly renowned for its rich engagement with the sciences of the Arabic language. It serves as an exceptional resource for the study and application of balaghah, nahw, and sarf, as al-Alusi frequently explores subtle linguistic nuances, syntactic possibilities, and rhetorical devices embedded within the Quran.
