بغية المشتاق في شرح اللمع (Bughyat al-Mushtaq fi Sharh al-Luma')

While Shaykh Yasin al-Fadani is most often remembered as a musnid al-dunya, renowned for his vast asanid and transmission of hadith, this description hardly does justice to the breadth of his scholarship. He was a true polymath, possessing depth not only in hadith, but also in fields such as balaghah, fiqh, and usul. Among his contributions is his work in usul al-fiqh, most notably Bughyat al-Mushtaq Sharh al-Luma. In this commentary, al-Fadani engages with al-Imam al-Shirazi's seminal primer, al-Luma fi Usul al-Fiqh, unpacking its dense formulations and providing valuable insights for students navigating the discipline. What sets this book apart is al-Fadani's ikhtiyarat in the subject and his copious examples for all the usuli concepts.
